California state route 136 from Lone Pine to Death Valley.

Do you know that the Eastern Sierra makes us 10% of the land area of California?

Yep. Just two counties. Inyo and Mono Counties together make up one-tenth of our state.

What’s more amazing is that almost 93% of the land in these two counties is public land; the US National Park Service, US Forest Service (USFS), and Bureau of Land Management (BLM) manage our lands for recreation, conservation, and commercial use.

The Eastern Sierra is a fascinating place.
